The Kenya National Union of Nurses wants a pension scheme to be established for all nurses and their pay
harmonised. At the same time, the union complained that some counties had not promoted nurses.
Speaking during the launch of the 12-day International Nurses celebrations at Gusii Stadium, the union's
secretary general Seth Panyako complained that nurses have been mistreated and undermined in Bomet
and Nairobi counties.
In Nairobi, he noted, 64 nurses had been sacked while another 74 had not received their salaries since
December last year.
